Senior Payroll Officer | Permanent & Flexible

Subiaco | Permanent | 30-38 hours per week

Looking for a payroll role that gives you flexibility, variety and the prospect to be involved in more than just BAU payroll?

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our corporate team in Subiaco and support approximately 1,100 employees across 16 dealerships throughout WA and the NT.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll join an established payroll team consisting of a Senior Payroll Specialist and Payroll / HR Junior.

You’ll initially take ownership of an end-to-end payroll portfolio of approximately 100 employees through Employment Hero, with the opportunity to train across our larger 1,000-employee Unipay payroll.

We’re also currently undertaking a major payroll transformation, implementing Aurion to replace our existing payroll systems. This is an opportunity to be involved in a significant payroll project while continuing to apply your technical payroll expertise across a large and diverse workforce.

Your day-to-day will include:

- End-to-end fortnightly payroll processing

- Commission and DSA payments

- Award interpretation and payroll compliance

- Same-day superannuation

- Payroll tax

- Payroll reconciliations and reporting

- Terminations and final payments

- EOFY reporting

- Payroll queries and issue resolution

- Supporting payroll process improvements

- Assisting with the Aurion implementation and transition

About You

You’ll have:





- 3+ years’ experience processing end-to-end payroll

- Strong Employment Hero Payroll experience – essential

- Experience processing commissions

- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and awards

- Experience with reconciliations, superannuation, payroll tax and EOFY

- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

- The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your payroll responsibilities

- A proactive approach to identifying and improving payroll processes

Unipay and automotive industry experience will be highly regarded.

Flexibility

This is a permanent position.

We require availability Monday to Wednesday, with the remaining hours and days negotiable for the right person.
