Bethesda Health Care is seeking an experienced and motivated Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator to join Bethesda Mount Hospital. This is an opportunity to apply your specialist knowledge and practical experience to support safe clinical care, workforce wellbeing, accreditation readiness and continuous quality improvement across the hospital.

The Opportunity

SUPPORT – Support the delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of Bethesda Mount Hospital's Infection Prevention and Control Program.

COLLABORATE – Partner with clinicians, managers and multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, evidence-based practice across the hospital.

IMPROVE – Contribute to surveillance, education, auditing and quality improvement activities that strengthen patient and workforce safety.

What You Will Do

- Support the coordination, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.

- Undertake infection surveillance, auditing, reporting and accreditation activities, and provide support for relevant committees.

- Provide advice and support on outbreaks, emerging infectious threats, antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention practices.

- Contribute to the development and delivery of policies, education programs, orientation and staff training.

- Coordinate respiratory protection, fit-testing programs and workforce immunisation compliance.

- Support occupational exposure management and contribute advice regarding sterilisation, products,



construction activities and environmental risks.

What you will bring

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.

- Relevant infection prevention and control education or training, with a commitment to further recognised study where required.

- Healthcare infection prevention and control experience across surveillance, auditing, education, consultation and quality improvement activities.

- Contemporary knowledge of healthcare-associated infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, sterilisation and relevant safety, quality and accreditation standards.

- Solid analytical, investigation, report writing, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills.

- A practical, collaborative approach, with the ability to influence practice, prioritise competing requirements and work autonomously.

Highly regarded: Postgraduate qualifications in infection prevention and control, professional credentialling through the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC), a Nurse Immuniser qualification, or experience coordinating workforce immunisation, respiratory protection or fit-testing programs.
