Migration Lawyer – Vietnamese Speaking
Flexible Working: Office | Work From Home | Hybrid

Edunetwork Australia is an established education and migration services company providing professional education consultancy and Australian visa-related services to individuals, families, international students and businesses.
Due to the continued growth of our migration practice, we are seeking an experienced and ethical Australian Legal Practitioner with experience in Migration Law to join our team.
This role offers a high level of flexibility and autonomy. The successful candidate may choose to work from our office, work from home, or adopt a hybrid working arrangement, depending on their preference and the agreed working arrangement.
Fluency in Vietnamese is essential for this position.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing immigration legal services and managing migration matters from initial consultation through to finalisation. You will assess client eligibility, advise clients on available migration pathways, prepare and manage visa and review applications, draft legal submissions and communicate with relevant government departments and organisations. The role is suited to a lawyer who is confident managing their own caseload, exercising professional judgment and taking ownership of matters while working within a supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting initial consultations and assessing clients' immigration circumstances and eligibility.
- Advising clients regarding Australian visas, migration pathways,
sponsorship, nomination and review options.
- Preparing, lodging and managing visa applications, sponsorship applications and nomination applications.
- Preparing legal submissions, supporting statements and responses to Requests for Further Information, Natural Justice letters and other Departmental correspondence.
- Managing Administrative Review Tribunal matters, including preparation of submissions, evidence and hearing matters where appropriate.
- Researching relevant migration legislation, regulations, policy and case law.
- Reviewing supporting documentation and identifying eligibility, evidentiary and compliance issues.
- Taking carriage of multiple client matters and managing files independently.
- Maintaining accurate client records, correspondence, deadlines and file notes.
- Communicating professionally with clients, the Department of Home Affairs, the Administrative Review Tribunal, education providers and other relevant organisations.
About you
- A completed Australian law degree or recognised equivalent.
- Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
- A current Australian Practising Certificate authorising you to provide legal services.
- Experience in Australian Migration Law.
- A strong understanding of Australian migration legislation, policy and visa procedures.
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English, with the ability to communicate professionally with Vietnamese-speaking clients.
- Strong legal research, written communication and submission-drafting skills.
- The ability to take carriage of files and manage matters with a high level of autonomy.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Full working rights in Australia.
