About the role

Pelican Boat Hire is seeking a Barista / Retail Crew member to join our dynamic hospitality team in Noosaville. This is a casual position based at our picturesque riverside location in Noosaville QLD 4566. As a Barista / Retail Crew member, you will be the friendly face of our business, delivering exceptional customer service whilst preparing quality beverages and assisting with retail and boat hires. This role is integral to creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring they have a memorable experience at Pelican Boat Hire.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, and other hot and cold beverages

- Operate and maintain barista equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and milk steamers

- Manage retail transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card payments

- Assist with retail and tour sales as well as boat hire customers

- Able to work independently with minimal supervision

- Provide excellent customer service in a busy environment

- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and food safety practices at all times

- Assist with light cleaning duties and restocking of supplies throughout shifts

- Support team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative work workplace

- Promote retail items and upsell beverages where appropriate to enhance customer experience

What we're looking for

- Practical experience as a barista in a busy cafe environment

- Demonstrated ability to operate espresso machines and produce quality coffee beverages





- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable manner

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during peak times with minimal supervision

- Someone who wants at least 20+ hours / week on a year round basis and is available to work at least one day each weekend and on school holidays

- Australian permanent resident who is already living in Noosa region

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
