An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Fitter to join our collaborative and hardworking Defence Maintenance Contract team based in Wallangarra, QLD, just north of Tenterfield, NSW. About the role
As a Fitter, you will use your highly detailed workmanship to inspect, repair and recondition military hardware. You will provide direct embedded support and work closely with Defence personnel and training activities to ensure hardware is functional and training objectives are achieved.

- Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on military equipment, hardware and Defence armaments.
- Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify required parts.
- Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose.




- Provide occasional support to various Defence Bases across the state, assisting with Armory maintenance. All travel, accommodation and meals are provided.

About you

- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting or Fitter and Machinist). (Required)
- High Risk Forklift Licence. (Required)
- Hold a valid Australian Driver’s Licence. (Required)
- MR or HR Licence. (Highly desirable)
- High Risk Dogging & Rigging, Overhead Crane, and Confined Space Entry (Highly regarded) or willing to obtain.
- Physically fit with the ability to undertake hands-on mechanical work.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
