About the role

This is a hands-on technical leadership position, not a desk-based management role. Initially, you will personally diagnose faults, attend vehicles, coordinate repairs, support customers and work directly with overseas OEM engineering teams. As ODIN's Australian fleet grows, you will help develop the technicians, service partners, systems and procedures required to support the vehicles nationally. Regular national travel to customer sites, workshops and vehicle deployments is an essential part of this position. Periodic international travel is also required for factory inspections, technical training, Factory Acceptance Testing and manufacturer liaison.

Key responsibilities

- Personally diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical and electronic vehicle faults.

- Provide field and remote technical support for electric, hybrid and hydrogen buses and heavy vehicles.

- Travel nationally to attend customer sites, workshops, breakdowns, deployments and technical investigations.

- Travel internationally when required for factory inspections, technical training, Factory Acceptance Testing and OEM liaison.

- Interpret wiring diagrams, CAN-bus data, diagnostic information and OEM technical documentation.

- Manage urgent vehicle-down incidents and customer technical escalations.

- Work directly with overseas OEM engineers to investigate faults and implement corrective actions.

- Coordinate warranty repairs, replacement parts and technical claims.

- Conduct and oversee pre-delivery inspections, vehicle commissioning and deployment readiness.

- Develop fault-finding procedures, technical bulletins, service instructions and maintenance information.

About you

- A recognised qualification as an automotive electrician, heavy-vehicle mechanic, diesel mechanic or equivalent.

- Strong experience diagnosing faults in buses, trucks, commercial vehicles,



plant or other heavy equipment.

- Excellent electrical and electronic diagnostic capability.

- Experience with CAN-bus systems, multiplexed vehicle electronics and diagnostic software.

- Experience with battery-electric, hybrid, hydrogen or other high-voltage vehicle systems.

- A strong understanding of safe high-voltage isolation and working procedures.

- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering information and technical manuals.

- Experience in field service, OEM technical support, fleet maintenance or workshop operations.

- Robust written and verbal communication skills.

- A current Australian driver licence and current passport or the ability to obtain one.
