About the role
You will be an important part of the practice team at a specialist vascular and endovascular surgical practice in Cairns, helping ensure patients receive a professional, welcoming and efficient service. Working alongside an experienced medical secretary, you will support the growing practice with reception and administration duties.
Key responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and managing reception
- Answering telephone and email enquiries
- Appointment scheduling and patient follow-up
- Processing referrals and medical correspondence
- Assisting with Medicare and private billing
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Supporting the medical secretary with day-to-day administration
- Assisting with general practice administration as the practice continues to grow
About you
- Experienced in medical reception or medical administration
- Professional, friendly and patient-focused
- Highly organised and reliable
- Confident with computers and practice management systems
- Able to communicate effectively with patients, doctors and hospitals
- Comfortable working independently while being part of a small team
- Experience with specialist or surgical practice will be highly regarded
- Experience with Gentu, Medical Objects, Medicare billing would be advantageous
