About the role

The Honest Collective is seeking a Female Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. This role is based in Blackburn and surrounding South Eastern suburbs and offers a meaningful opportunity to make a direct and positive impact on the lives of individuals living with disabilities. As a Female Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential, person-centred support services that empower our clients to achieve greater independence, dignity and quality of life. This position is fundamental to our mission of delivering compassionate, tailored support within our community.

What you'll be doing

- Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including hygiene, grooming, dressing and mobility support

- Assisting clients with meal preparation and nutritional support, respecting individual dietary requirements and preferences

- Supporting clients in engaging with community activities, social outings and recreational opportunities to promote independence and social inclusion

- Helping clients with household management tasks, including cleaning, laundry and general household maintenance

- Accompanying clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions and other support services as required

- Maintaining detailed and accurate records of client support provided and any observations or concerns

- Communicating effectively with clients, their families, healthcare professionals and other members of the support team

- Promoting dignity, respect and person-centred values in all interactions with clients





- Following individual support plans and contributing to reviews and updates of client care strategies

- Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for clients

What we're looking for

- A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting individuals with disabilities

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues

- Physical capability to provide hands-on support, including assistance with mobility and personal care tasks

- Reliability, punctuality and commitment to providing consistent, high-quality support

- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Sound understanding of disability support principles, including person-centred care and rights-based approaches

- Relevant qualifications or certification in disability support or aged care (such as a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support Services), or willingness to obtain these

- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one

- A valid driver's licence and your own reliable transport (desirable)

- Demonstrated experience working in community services or disability support environments
