AustCorp Executive is partnering with a well-established manufacturing business seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its engineering and maintenance team in the Newcastle region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter who enjoys fault-finding, improving equipment reliability and working within a fast-paced production environment.

The role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment and supporting reliable site operations. Your duties will include:
Completing planned, preventative and reactive maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical breakdowns
Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics and hydraulic systems
Supporting production teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment performance
Carrying out equipment installations, modifications and improvement projects
Identifying recurring faults and contributing to root-cause investigations
Recording maintenance activities accurately within the site CMMS
Maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping
Working closely with electricians, operators and other members of the engineering team

About you
To be considered,



you will ideally have:
A recognised Australian Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing, mining services, food and beverage, packaging or another industrial workplace
Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown response skills
Experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics and production machinery
Welding and fabrication capability would be highly regarded
A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement
Positive communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
A strong commitment to workplace safety
Flexibility to work the required roster and participate in overtime when needed
