About the role

We are Lone Star Rib House & Brews, seeking an experienced and reliable Cook / Grill Chef to join our kitchen team on a full time / part-time / casual basis at our Hallett Cove location, offering a Texan-themed dining experience with a menu featuring ribs, steaks, burgers, and more.

Key responsibilities - Cook / Grill Chef
Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, menus and presentation standards
Preparing ingredients, including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces, stocks and garnishes
Operating grills, fryers, stovetops, ovens and other commercial kitchen equipment
Monitoring the quality of ingredients and finished dishes
Ensuring consistent portion sizes, flavour and presentation
Assisting with menu preparation and the development of current dishes when required
Managing food preparation and service during busy periods
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and inventory control
Minimising food waste and following appropriate food-storage procedures
Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen

About you
A relevant commercial cookery qualification,



or at least three years of relevant commercial cooking experience
Experience working in a busy commercial restaurant kitchen
Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety requirements
Solid attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent quality
Valuable organisational and time-management skills
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
The ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation
