Volunteer Videographer

Emerging Hermit — Rosebud, Victoria

Emerging Hermit is looking for a volunteer videographer to help document our creative projects, events, workshops, markets, performances and day-to-day development.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys filming real people, creative work and authentic moments rather than highly produced commercial content.

What you’ll be doing
Filming workshops, markets, open mic nights and creative events
Recording interviews, conversations and artist stories
Capturing behind-the-scenes footage of Emerging Hermit projects
Taking short-form footage for social media and longer footage for YouTube
Helping build an ongoing library of photographs and video footage
Working with Moses to identify interesting stories and moments worth documenting
Occasionally helping organise and transfer footage for editing and publishing

What we’re looking for

You don't need formal qualifications.

We're interested in someone who:
Enjoys video, photography or visual storytelling
Can operate a camera, phone or basic video equipment
Has a positive eye for interesting moments and composition
Is comfortable filming people in relaxed, real-world environments




Can work independently once the purpose of a project has been explained
Is reliable and communicates when available
Is interested in art, music, writing, community or creative projects

Experience is welcome, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are equally important.

How we work

Emerging Hermit is an independent creative project built around collaboration, experimentation and lived experience.

This is a volunteer position, with versatile involvement based around your availability. You may work alongside Moses at particular events or projects, rather than having fixed weekly hours.

The role can grow naturally as we discover where your skills are most helpful.

Location

Rosebud / Mornington Peninsula, VIC

Some projects will take place at markets, workshops, performances and other local locations.
