Emerging Hermit is looking for someone interested in learning the publishing side of a growing independent creative project.

This role would suit someone who is interested in writing, poetry, magazines, books, editing, design or creative projects, but doesn't necessarily have skilled publishing experience.

I am currently developing publications, poetry collections, magazines and other written projects, and I am looking for someone I can train into the publishing process and gradually involve in more of the work.

What you could learn and assist with
Editing and proofreading written material
Preparing articles, poetry and other written content
Formatting publications
Assisting with magazine and book layouts
Organising images and artwork
Preparing material for print and digital publication
Organising publication files and archives
Researching publication opportunities and suppliers
Helping develop future publications
General publishing administration

You don't need to already know how to do all of this.



I can teach you how I approach the work and develop your skills as we go.

What I'm looking for

Someone who is:
Interested in creative writing, publishing or the arts
Able to learn independently
Comfortable working with written material
Detail-oriented
Reliable and responsive
Interested in developing practical creative skills
Willing to start with small tasks and learn the broader process

Previous publishing experience is welcome, but it isn't essential.

This is an chance to work alongside an independent artist and learn through practical involvement in real publications and creative projects.

The role

This can begin with small, clearly defined tasks and develop as you become familiar with the work.

The focus is on finding the right person who is interested in learning and contributing, rather than requiring someone who already has a complete publishing skillset.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
