South Melbourne Districts Football Club is looking for a Team Manager to support our Under 19s Men’s program throughout the football season.

This is a outstanding opportunity for someone interested in sports management, football operations or team administration who wants hands-on experience working directly with a team.

What you’ll do

Working alongside the coaching team and Football Operations, you’ll help keep things running smoothly each week, including:
Preparing and managing team sheets and match-day administration
Coordinating required match-day volunteers
Communicating with the opposition Team Manager
Liaising with umpires and following up as required
Supporting coaches with team and player communications
Ensuring match-day requirements are organised and completed
Assisting with other team administration throughout the week.

What you’ll get from the role

You’ll become an key part of our Under 19s program and work closely with players, coaches and other volunteers throughout the season.

The role provides genuine hands-on experience in football operations and team management,



making it particularly suited to someone studying or looking to gain experience in sport management, administration or a related area.

You’ll be supported by our coaches, committee and wider club while having ownership of the day-to-day management of your team. You’ll also become part of the broader South Melbourne Districts community and be welcome at club games, events and social activities.

Time Required

Most Saturdays from April to September, attending both home and away games. Approximately 1–2 additional hours during the week will be required for team administration, communications and match-day preparation.

Saturday availability is an key requirement of this role.

Training

On-the-job training and support will be provided by our Football Operations team, including guidance on team sheets, match-day requirements, competition processes and communications.
