Speno Rail Maintenance Australia is a world leader in rail grinding technology, ultrasonic rail testing, machine production, and the service provider of choice for all rail maintenance, rectification, and diagnostics.

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter who is looking for a career change, and is eager to expand their skill set and learn rail grinding as a Trainee Machine Operator/Maintainer for our Sydney operations, working on our multi-million-dollar rail grinding trains and vehicles.

The Role:

This exciting prospect involves both day and predominantly night shifts, offering a unique role in the Rail sector.

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic team players with a strong work ethic, the right abilities, and a positive attitude to succeed and grow within the company.

The role is FIFO from Queensland to Sydney working nine days on and five days off roster, within operations across the Sydney network.

All training will be provided, including Speno Rails individual training program to ensure salary and level progression through the operator maintainer levels; Trainee Operator Maintainer, Competent Operator Maintainer and Cert III Qualified Operator Maintainer.

Key Responsibilities:




Operate and maintain rail grinding machines and equipment.
Work collaboratively with the team to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
Follow all safety protocols and company values.
Complete tasks as per instructions to a high standard of quality.

Requirements:
Trade Mechanical Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
Versatile, team-oriented, and committed to the company's values.
Ability to meet production goals safely and efficiently.
Valid C class manual Driver’s Licence.
Strong communication skills.
Physically fit and able to meet Category 1 medical requirements (including full colour vision).
100% commitment to safety.
FIFO from Queensland.

Desirable (but not essential):
HR Licence.
First Aid certification.
Previous rail experience.
