Test Analyst - Automation (Dynamics 365 / Power Platform)
Canberra, ACT | Hybrid | 12-month contract with two 12-month extension options | Up to 40 hrs/week
About the role
We're looking for a Test Analyst to join a digital transformation program for a federal government client, working on a Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform-based portal. You'll be testing Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse solutions end-to-end, covering everything from manual functional testing through to building and maintaining automated regression suites that run inside the CI/CD pipeline.
This isn't a role where you sit back and wait for instructions. You'll need to get across new business processes quickly and work independently once you're up to speed.
What you'll bring
Hands-on testing experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Power Platform apps (Power Pages, Power Apps, Dataverse), including designing test scenarios and managing defects against real business processes
Solid grounding in functional, integration, system, regression and UAT testing across web and enterprise applications
UI test automation experience with Playwright, Selenium or EasyRepro
API and integration test automation experience, using tools like Postman/Newman,
REST Assured or Playwright's API testing features
Experience wiring automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, so tests run automatically rather than only on demand
Comfortable working in VS Code and Azure DevOps, with valuable source control and defect management habits
A working understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery, and experience collaborating in multidisciplinary project teams
The flexibility to move between projects, technologies and business domains as priorities shift
Nice to have
ISTQB Automation Certification or equivalent
Deeper Dynamics 365 experience (plugin logic, setting variables, API Management policy validation)
Experience with Jira alongside Azure DevOps
Good to know before you apply
You'll need to be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance. If you already hold one, even better, but it's not a strict requirement to apply.
Canberra-based candidates are strongly preferred given the hybrid working arrangement. If you're interstate but a very robust fit, it's still worth reaching out.
Start date is expected early October 2026, so this suits someone who can ramp up fast
