This is a volunteer policy-writing position, and the key responsibilities are to:
Assist the executive board in drafting and refining concise monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual reports.
Attend fortnightly meetings with our executive team to discuss report progress.
Attend meetings with State and Federal Members of Parliament about the policy briefs we will present.
Expected Time Commitment: Maximum of 5 hours a week. This can vary depending on policy writing deadlines and meetings to attend. Location Type: Hybrid. Policy writing will be largely remote; however, MP meetings will be in person. Team meetings will preferably be in person, but remote options are available.
Candidates applying for this position will be asked to provide a policy proposal on an issue they believe is affecting young people (Max 250 words)

Policy Acumen: Proven commitment to public policy, with a transparent understanding of legislative, regulatory, and decision-making processes.
Written Communication: Exceptional ability to construct transparent, persuasive, and publication-ready written material.
Analytical Research: Robust qualitative and quantitative research capabilities, including synthesising statutory material, academic studies, and stakeholder feedback.
Meticulous Execution: High attention to detail with an eye for nuance, logical consistency and rigorous proofreading.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: A proven capacity to thrive in multidisciplinary teams.
