About the Company A Brisbane-based engineering business, part of a large global infrastructure and engineering group with operations across power delivery and transmission, is hiring a Primary Design Engineer to join its QLD team.

About the Role

This is a permanent, Brisbane-based position within a growing engineering function. You'll be responsible for HV substation primary plant design, working across transformers, switchgear, busbars and overall substation layout. Day to day, that includes fault level and related design calculations, preparing design documentation and technical specifications, and working alongside other engineering disciplines to deliver projects from concept through to construction.

You'll be part of a QLD engineering team that's actively growing, with the group's wider Australian operations giving genuine visibility into a robust pipeline of transmission and substation work.

Responsibilities




HV substation primary plant design, working across transformers, switchgear, busbars and overall substation layout
Fault level and related design calculations
Preparing design documentation and technical specifications
Working alongside other engineering disciplines to deliver projects from concept through to construction

Qualifications
Electrical/Power Engineering degree

Required Skills
Solid, hands-on HV substation design experience
Working knowledge of DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP or similar design/study software
Comfortable working across the full design lifecycle, not just one stage of it

Preferred Skills
This is a genuine prospect to work on significant HV infrastructure projects with a business backed by reliable scale.
