Mezzalira is looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our energetic kitchen team in Canberra City. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding workplace where you can showcase your skills, work with premium seasonal ingredients, and contribute to an established dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to restaurant standards and recipes.
Manage a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service flow and consistency.
Maintain exceptionally high standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and safety (HACCP compliance).
Monitor stock levels, minimize food waste, and assist with prep work.
Collaborate positively with the Head Chef and the rest of the kitchen team.
What We’re Looking For:
Relevant trade qualifications (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery) or equivalent industry experience.
Previous experience working as a Chef or Demi Chef in a rapid-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
A reliable, organized work ethic and a genuine passion for food.
Flexibility to work a standard hospitality roster, including nights and weekends.
