About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term basis. Working closely with our Office Manager, you'll own the end-to-end accounts payable function alongside reception and general admin support — a hands-on, wide-ranging role for someone who enjoys accuracy, structure, and being the go-to person for supplier queries.
Processing supplier invoices and statements – checking, sorting and obtaining authorisation
Entering and maintaining suppliers in Xero
Initiating supplier payments and ensuring creditors are paid within terms
Collating and following up subcontractor bills
Month-end supplier statement reconciliation and monthly reconciliation
Credit card expense allocation and receipt processing in Xero
Preparing the Fuel Tax Credit spreadsheet




Reconciling the Payment bank accounts
Full pallet control
Assisting with payroll (timecards, entering payroll into spreadsheet and Xero)

About You
Prior experience in an accounts payable or similar role
Confident using Xero (or similar accounting software)
Strong administrative skills across the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
Well-developed time management and organisational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Positive, friendly and approachable manner
Proactive, uses initiative and collaborates well with internal and external stakeholders
