Volunteer commitment
Our volunteers are expected to:
Commit to at least 20 visits per year
Complete required training and screening
Obtain the required police clearance and checks
Attend agreed visits and communicate with the ACVVS team
Respect privacy, culture, identity and personal boundaries
Follow Umbrella and ACVVS safeguarding and confidentiality requirements
Stay within the volunteer role and provide companionship—not personal or clinical care

You'll be supported




Umbrella has a community of more than 100 ACVVS volunteers providing regular companionship and social support to older people, with ongoing guidance, training, wellbeing activities and support throughout their volunteering journey.
