Job Title: Family Preservation Caseworker
n
Job Summary:
n
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Caseworkers to join our Family Preservation team, on the NSW Central Coast. As a Family Preservation Caseworker, you will be responsible for working with children and families for up to 2 years to provide wrap around support services with the aim of increasing safety and decrease risk of harm to help children and young people remain living safely with their parents.

This is a full-time position that requires excellent interpersonal skills, case management experience, knowledge of the Care and Protection Act NSW, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals.
n
Responsibilities:
n
– Conduct assessments of children's needs and develop personalised case plans
n
– Provide intensive in home practical support to families including parenting skill development to increase safety in the home
n
– Liaise with families to ensure the best interests of the child are met
n
– Advocate for children's rights and coordinate necessary services such as education, healthcare, and counselling
n
– Collaborate with other professionals involved in the child's life (e.g., teachers, therapists) to ensure holistic support
n
– Monitor progress through regular home visits and meetings with all stakeholders involved including the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ)
n
– Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports as required in line with organisational guidelines and or legal obligations
n
Skills:
n
– Proven experience working as a caseworker within a similar role is essential
n
– Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities
n




– Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to work in a culturally trauma informed framework
n
– Knowledge of relevant legislation governing child protection in NSW
n
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively within transdisciplinary teams
n
– Strong understanding of child development theories and trauma-informed practices
n
– Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective collaboration with diverse individuals
n
– Ability to assess complex situations accurately while maintaining empathy towards all parties involved
n
– Proficient in problem-solving techniques that promote positive outcomes for children and young people
n
– Highly organised with solid time management ability
n
– Highly developed administrative skills including case note writing, casework summaries and reports where required
n
Qualifications:
n
– Diploma or Bachelor qualification in social work or related field
n
– Minimum 2 years industry related experience
n
– Previous experience working with Aboriginal communities essential
n
– Clearance of Working With Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory
n
– Satisfactory National Police Check is mandatory
n
– Valid NSW drivers licence essential
n
