2. TITLE

Position Title: Cook
n Description: Prepares, seasons and cooks' food in a dining or catering establishment.
n
3. ENGLISH LANGUAGE
n
This position requires a high level of proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with staff, suppliers, and customers.
n
4. FULL-TIME POSITION ONLY
n
This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Jugiong, NSW.
n
5. OCCUPATION TASKS
n
Tasks Include:
n
Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
n
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
n
Preparing and cooking food
n
Seasoning food during cooking
n
Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies,



sauces and garnishes
n
Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
n
Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
n
May plan menus and estimate food requirements
n
May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
n
Prepares, seasons and cooks' food in a dining or catering establishment.
n
6. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
n
Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
n
Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques and modern cooking methods.
n
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
n
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food quality and consistency.
n
Understanding of hygiene and food safety regulations.
n
Ability to manage time efficiently and work under pressure during busy service periods.
n
7. QUALIFICATIONS
n
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; OR
n • At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
n • Additional on-the-job training or relevant culinary certifications may be required.
