Lunar Outpost Oceania is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our fast-paced, dynamic team. In this role, you will design and develop mechanical systems for spacecraft and associated technologies. Your work will contribute to groundbreaking projects in lunar mobility and in-situ resource utilisation.
n During this 12 week internship, you will be required to work on a full time basis onsite in Burnley.

Position Description
n
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will:
n
n
Collaborate on 3D modelling using CAD software.
n
Ensure designs meet technical specifications.
n
Assist to build prototypes and testing components.
n
Analyse test data and recommend design improvements.
n
Maintain detailed records of design changes and test results.
n
Update engineering drawings and specifications.
n
Work closely with electrical engineers and software developers.
n
Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
n




Identify and address design and manufacturing challenges.
n
Select materials suitable for lunar conditions.
n
Implement quality control measures for manufactured parts.
n
Contribute effectively to team objectives.
n
Adhere to safety protocols at all stages of work.
n

Preferred Disciplines
n
Mechatronics, Robotics, Engineering, Systems, Mechanical Engineering.
n
Requirements
n
n
n
n
Minimum of 2 years' experience studying an engineering discipline at university.
n
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and software developers, to integrate mechanical systems with other components.
n
Confidence to participate in design reviews and provide feedback and recommendations to improve system performance.
n
Must be legally permitted to work in Australia.
