In this role, you'll lead the end-to-end certification process for Avidyne's advanced avionics systems across fixed- and rotary-wing platforms, partnering closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and regulatory agencies to deliver products our pilots can trust.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
n
n
Lead certification projects for avionics systems or subsystems from planning through final approval.
n
Coordinate with regulatory authorities, DERs, and auditors to secure approvals and close compliance gaps.
n
Drive certification strategies to meet FAA, EASA, and global airworthiness standards.
n
Develop and maintain certification plans, test reports, IMs, PGAs, compliance matrices, and ICAs.
n
Define certification strategy and means of compliance.
n
Partner with systems, software, and hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of certification requirements throughout design and development.
n
Coordinate conformity inspections, audits, and reviews with FAA, EASA, and DERs.
n
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
n
Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and contribute to certification best practices.
n
Stay current on evolving regulations and contribute to process improvements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
n
Knowledge & Experience
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Aerospace, or related Engineering.
n
5+ years of certification or systems engineering experience (3+ with a Master's).
n
Proven experience managing FAA certification programs (TSO, STC, or TC).
n
Hands-on knowledge of DO-178C, DO-254, ARP****A, and ARP**** compliance standards.
n
Experience coordinating with regulatory authorities and DERs.
n

Ability to work independently and lead certification efforts with minimal supervision.

Preferred
n
n
Master's degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
n
Experience with EASA validation.
n
Experience with multi-system integration projects.
n
Pilot's license, flight training, or robust knowledge of general aviation operations.
n
Track record of process improvement in certification or compliance.
n
