Job Description

As the Senior Risk & Compliance Consultant, you'll play a key role in helping AFCA build and operate a robust risk, compliance and assurance framework for a nationally significant scheme designed to improve outcomes for consumers impacted by scams. Working across a complex regulatory workplace, you'll help ensure risks are identified, obligations are managed, controls are effective, and assurance activities drive continuous improvement.

About the Role

Reporting to the Strategic Lead, Scheme Integrity & Assurance, you'll support the implementation and ongoing operation of AFCA's Scams Prevention Framework dispute resolution arrangements through the delivery of risk, compliance and assurance activities.

This is initially a max-term contract until July 2027.

In this role, you will:
Support the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the risk and compliance arrangements for the Scams EDR program and scheme.
Coordinate risk and compliance activities across the program.




Maintain risk, compliance and assurance registers, controls, actions and supporting records.
Monitor obligations, controls, treatments and emerging risks.
Support assurance reviews, audits and control assessments.
Prepare high-quality governance, risk and compliance reporting for management and program forums.
Support the incorporation of risk, compliance, privacy, control and assurance requirements into the scheme’s processes, systems and operating models.
Provide strategic support across both implementation and BAU functions, including surge capacity for emerging priorities and regulatory obligations.
Partner with stakeholders across Legal, Privacy, Information Security, Technology and Operations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen governance and risk maturity across the program.
