MMT Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Australian engineering and manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Mechanical/Structural Engineer or a Structural Designer / Drafter to support the design, fabrication and installation of heavy industrial plant and materials handling equipment.
n
This role suits a technically strong drafter who enjoys hands-on engineering work, producing shop-ready drawings, collaborating with engineers, and spending time both in the office and on-site.

The Role
n
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality design documentation across multiple projects, including:
n
n
n
Producing
2D and 3D CAD drawings
using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
n
n
Developing fabrication drawings, workshop details and assemblies
n
n
Creating bills of materials (BOMs), technical specifications and documentation
n
n
Reviewing and updating engineering mark-ups and revisions
n
n
Working closely with engineers,



project teams and production staff
n
n
Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accuracy and buildability
n
n
Supporting estimating and project delivery through drawings and BOMs
n
n
Assisting with site visits and client interactions where required
n
n
Contributing to continuous improvement of drawing standards and libraries
n
About You
n
n
n
Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Mechanical Designer / Drafter
n
n
Strong background in industrial, manufacturing or heavy engineering environments
n
n
High proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (essential)
n
n
Ability to produce practical, fabrication-ready drawings
n
n
Solid understanding of weld symbols, GD&T; and machining tolerances
n
n
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
n
n
Confident working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
n
Highly Regarded n
n
n
Experience in materials handling, mining, quarrying, ports or marine projects
n
n
Familiarity with
T
ekla or Advance Steel
n
n
Fabrication or workshop exposure
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Design, Drafting or Engineering
n
