• Support and assist Senior Application Engineers and sales team in developing technical and commercial proposals for fans and ventilation systems.
n • Support and assist Senior Project Managers in day to day activities for executing turnkey projects.
n • Support and assist Senior Design Engineers in project engineering and continuous improvement activities.
n • Where possible, the Graduate Engineer shall be rotated through key technical departments within the business including; Project Management, Engineering and Service, depending on available projects within each team.
n Contribute to the business through application of engineering skills and knowledge.

What Will You Do?
n
n
n
1. Ensure proposals are submitted by the agreed bid due date and submission of subsequent technical clarifications meets customer requirements.
n 2. Apply academic learning to the workplace environment.
n 3. Development of technical justification for proposed equipment including the offer of alternative proposals. Apply product to customers system and advise on improvements that are possible.
n 4. Specify and procure quotes for major, technically compliant, cost effective items via external sub-vendors to prepare comprehensive proposals and accurate cost estimates.
n 5. Maintain proposal documentation in line with company procedures and policy to ensure compliance with QA standards.
n 6. Ensure Company policies, procedures and norms are followed for all proposals activities to ensure the highest level of quality.
n 7. Provide technical support for commissioning activities.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require...

n • Various functional departments including engineering departments, QA department, projects and after sales to ensure compliance with proposal requirements and manage responses in line with the proposal schedule and customer requirements.
n • Provide technical support to other functions within the business
n • Head of Sales, Managing Director and Howden legal for commercial aspects of proposals
n External
n • Client for presenting proposal, negotiating and winning business.
n • Sub-suppliers to procure technically compliant and cost effective quotes.
n • Agents to determine market conditions, identify opportunities and present proposals

Your Experience Should Be...
n
n
n
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours
n • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in engineering related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, mining or aeronautical) within the last 12 months or expected to graduate from degree within the next 6 months
n • Proficiency with drafting and 3D modelling software such as AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent
n • Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills
n • Knowledge of rotating machinery applications would be advantageous
n • Well developed analytical and research skills
n • Demonstrates a skilled attitude
n • Ability to think proactively and independently solve problems, think laterally and identify corrective actions
n • Well-developed communication skills written and oral
n • High level organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously in a team environment and manage pressure and meet timelines
