Essential criteria
n
1.Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in satellite communications engineering, including GEO and NGSO systems.
n
2.Robust understanding of RF and microwave communication systems, including design, testing, and optimisation.
n
3.Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high-availability WAN services, including satellite-based connectivity solutions that ensure reliable and resilient communications across geographically dispersed locations.
n
4.Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including high-level designs and maintenance plans.
n
5.Excellent communication and collaboration skills,



with experience working in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
n
6.Willingness and ability to travel regularly to geographically dispersed DFAT Posts and remote locations as required for system deployment, maintenance, and support activities.
n
Desirable criteria
n
1.Experience supporting government or defence satellite communications projects.
n
2.Ability to mentor or provide technical guidance to junior engineers or field technicians.
n
