Animal & Kennel Hand – Reptiles & Small Animals

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Animal/Kennel Hand to assist with the day-to-day care of our reptiles, rats, mice and rabbits.

This is a hands-on role involving feeding, watering, cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures. We’re looking for someone who isn’t worried about getting their hands dirty and is happy to get stuck into mucking out enclosures and the less glamorous parts of animal care!

Requirements
Comfortable working around reptiles, rats and mice
Happy to muck out and thoroughly clean animal enclosures
Assist with feeding, watering and general animal husbandry
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently




Positive attention to detail and able to follow instructions
Observant of animal health, behaviour and wellbeing
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Physically capable of cleaning, lifting supplies and completing hands-on tasks
A genuine care for animal welfare

Previous experience with animal care, reptiles, rodents, kennels, veterinary clinics or similar settings is highly regarded, but training can be provided to the right person. Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3.0 – 6.0 per week
