We are seeking an experienced Conference and Events Operations Team Leader to join our team in Brisbane.
In this role, you will lead a dynamic operations team in the planning and execution of high-profile conferences and events, ensuring each experience is delivered with precision and sophistication.
You will champion operational excellence, uphold the highest standards of service, and inspire your team to create memorable moments that reflect the refined spirit of Sofitel.Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of conference and events operations,



from initial concept through post-event evaluationManage event budgets, track expenses, and optimise resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness and profitabilityDevelop and implement operational processes and procedures that enhance efficiency and consistency across all eventsCoordinate with vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to secure services, negotiate contracts, and maintain quality standardsCreate and maintain detailed project timelines and ensure all deliverables are completed on scheduleMonitor compliance with organisational policies, industry regulations, and health and safety requirementsAnalyse event performance metrics and prepare comprehensive reports with actionable insights for continuous improvementCommunicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfactionIdentify operational challenges and implement innovative solutions to enhance event experiencesQualificationsMinimum 3 years of professional experience in events management, conference operations,



or related fieldResponsible Service of Alcohol certification Proven experience leading and managing operations teams of varying sizesStrong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneouslyComprehensive knowledge of event planning, logistics, and coordination best practicesProficiency in budget management and financial planningExcellent vendor and stakeholder management capabilitiesAdvanced organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detailExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and motivate othersStrong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work effectively under pressureProficiency with event management software and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with conference industry standards and best practices (preferred)Familiarity with Australian event market and Brisbane-based venue networks (preferred)Certification in event management or operations management (preferred)Additional InformationBring your passion and dedication to excellence, and we will recognise your contribution with a variety of advantages, rewards and development opportunities.
