The Role
AESM is seeking a dynamic and commercially driven General Manager to lead our operations and drive the continued growth and success of our business.
Reporting to the Director Fire Services - APAC, this senior leadership role is accountable for the strategic direction, financial performance, operational excellence, and overall success of AESM.
You will lead a diverse team across service, maintenance, projects, administration, and technical operations, ensuring exceptional customer outcomes while delivering sustainable business growth.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced leader with strong commercial acumen, a passion for people leadership, and a proven track record of delivering results within facilities management, technical services, fire protection, or asset-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Lead the strategic direction and performance of the AESM business across Victoria
Drive a strong safety culture focused on compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement
Deliver budgeted revenue, profitability, EBITDA, and operational performance targets
Develop and execute growth strategies to increase market share, customer retention, and profitability
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners
Identify and secure new maintenance, project, and service opportunities
Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve high levels of engagement, accountability, and performance
Develop leadership capability through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development
Ensure operational efficiency, workforce productivity, and service excellence across the business
Oversee forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analytics to support informed decision-making
Drive innovation, process improvement, and data-led business optimisation initiatives
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, contractual, safety, and company requirements

About You
You are a highly motivated and commercially focused leader who thrives on delivering results, developing people, and building strong client relationships.
You bring strategic thinking, strong financial management capability, and a passion for operational excellence.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Extensive senior leadership experience with end-to-end accountability for business performance
Demonstrated profit and loss (P&L;) ownership and responsibility
Proven experience delivering commercial and operational outcomes within facilities management, technical services, fire protection, engineering, or asset-intensive environments
Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial management, and strategic planning
Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build high-performing cultures
Experience managing senior stakeholder and customer relationships
Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving capability
Sound understanding of governance,
compliance, safety, and risk management frameworks
Robust communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Asset or Facilities Management, or a related discipline
