Are you an experienced project finance professional looking to influence the success of major projects?
Join Ampcontrol as our Senior Project Controller and provide critical financial oversight, governance and commercial support across a diverse portfolio of complex projects.
Based in either Newcastle or North Sydney, you'll partner with Project Managers and business leaders to drive project performance, profitability and cash outcomes from tender through to project completion.
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance Execution, you'll act as the key finance partner for major projects, providing financial leadership, commercial insight and governance support throughout the project lifecycle.
You'll help ensure forecast accuracy, protect project margins, improve cash performance and identify risks and opportunities that impact project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Tendering and Project teams to evaluate project profitability, cash flow, risks and commercial performance
Lead project financial governance, including budgets, forecasts, revenue recognition and project reviews
Monitor project and portfolio performance, providing analysis, challenge and recommendations to improve outcomes
Manage financial impacts associated with variations, claims, scope changes and commercial risks
Drive working capital performance through proactive management of billing, debtors and project cash flow
Prepare reporting, variance analysis and executive insights to support decision making
Ensure compliance with financial governance, accounting standards and internal controls
Support continuous improvement of project financial systems, reporting and processes
About You
To succeed in this role,
you will bring:
Degree qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
CA or CPA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded
Experience in project finance, project controlling, commercial finance or finance business partnering
Robust understanding of forecasting, cost control, margin management, revenue recognition and cash flow
Experience supporting complex project-based environments
Excellent analytical, stakeholder management and influencing skills
Proficiency with ERP and reporting tools such as D365 F&O;, Power BI and advanced Excel
Experience within industrial, engineering, construction, infrastructure, power or similar project-based industries will be highly regarded.
