We're working with the Australian operations of a major global business looking to add a
Legal Counsel
to its established Brisbane legal team.
n
This is a broad commercial role suited to a lawyer who enjoys variety and wants to be close to the operational side of a large business.
n
The work will include:
n
n
Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
n
Procurement, supply and operational agreements
n
General commercial and regulatory advice
n
Managing discrete commercial disputes and insurance matters
n
Supporting internal investigations conducted under privilege
n
Assisting with compliance, policies and training
n
n
The compliance component is only part of the role. The majority is
general commercial legal work
, working directly with stakeholders across a large and complex operating business.
About you n
You'll ideally have around
3–7 years' PAE




with strong commercial contracting skills gained in a leading law firm or in-house environment.
n
You'll be commercially minded, comfortable dealing directly with stakeholders and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the legal team gets involved in a wide variety of issues.
n
Property, procurement or regulatory experience would also be useful, but isn't essential.
