About the role

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and machinery for Banlay's operations. Working in our large workshop based in Dandenong VIC 3175, this full-time role will see you troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of diesel-powered equipment to ensure maximum uptime and productivity.

Key responsibilities
Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on a range of heavy vehicles and plant equipment
Diagnose and repair complex faults on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems and electrical components
Perform major component overhauls and rebuilds as required
Maintain detailed and accurate records of work performed
Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards
Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to optimise workshop operations

About you
Formal trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
Extensive experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles and machinery, ideally in a transport or construction environment




Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently to identify and resolve complex faults
Excellent knowledge of diesel engine technology, hydraulics, electrical systems and heavy vehicle components
Commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining a protected work environment
Valuable communication skills to liaise with supervisors and coordinate workflow
