About the role n
As Kitchen Hand, you will work with a Chef to provide meal options for village residents and other customers. The Kitchen Hand is responsible for food preparation, assisting the Chef with cooking of meal offerings, serving, and maintaining a clean kitchen. This position covers Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday service between *****am and 3pm, Tuesday *****am – 2.30pm and Sunday 10am to 3.00pm. From time to time there may be catering demands such as morning teas, events, and meeting lunch plates.

The successful applicant will have:
n
n
The ability to work in a rapid-paced kitchen environment.
n
Experience with food preparation and cooking
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
n
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.
n
Understand safe work practices and food safety/hygiene.
n
Work to set time frames to complete jobs in a timely and efficient manner.
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
n
Essential criteria n
There is a requirement to work weekday public holidays unless prior arrangements have been made.
Desirable criteria n
n
Experience working in an aged care setting.
n
Qualifications or training in food preparation and cooking
n
First aid certificate
n
n
