Viden are seeking an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join our growing cyber security team. This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex security problems, improving defensive capabilities, and working across a diverse range of technologies and environments.

You will be responsible for supporting the operation, engineering and continuous improvement of security technologies and controls, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, network security, identity and access management, logging and monitoring platforms for a critical Government network.

Developing detection and monitoring capabilities

Performing vulnerability analysis

Tuning security tools
n
Automating operational security tasks
n
Assisting clients and internal teams to strengthen their security posture

About you
n
n
10+ Years of SOC,



cyber security or network engineering experience
n
Solid knowledge of Windows, Linux, networking and cloud environments
n
Experience deploying and refining SIEM, EDR/XDR technologies
n
Understanding of incident response, threat detection and SOC operations
n
Scripting or automation skills such as PowerShell or Python
n
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
n
Experience with the ISM, Essential Eight, PSPF or DSPF
n
Diploma or above in Cyber Security or Network Engineering
n
Micro-credentials such as GCED, GMON, GCIA, CGIH are all highly regarded
n
n
