Job Description
The Team Leader Kitchen Hand oversees kitchen sanitation, organisation, and supports operations. You will coordinate non-cooking staff functions, including dishwashing, equipment handling, and storeroom operations, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and inventory control

You'll deliver this role by:
n
n
Supervise and coordinate the activities of pantry, storeroom and stewarding staff to ensure efficient operations.
n
Monitor cleanliness and organisation of kitchens, workrooms and storage areas.
n
Oversee dishwashing processes and the maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and glassware.
n
Control storage, handling and distribution of food supplies and kitchen equipment.
n
Conduct regular inventory checks of items, including but not limited to, trolleys, gastro trays and lids and kitchen tools.
n
Report shortages and arrange timely replacement or repair of equipment.
n
Implement controls to minimise waste, loss and breakage.
n
Recruit, train, roster and supervise stewarding staff to maintain service standards.
n
Provide support to kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
n
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations, including, regular inspections and safe work practices.

What We're Looking For

Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in a kitchen environment, including food preparation tasks.
n
Sound knowledge of safety requirements applicable to a commercial kitchen environment.
n
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team-based work workplace.
n
Proven ability to correctly follow systems, processes, and procedures.
n
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, including personal hygiene, cleanliness of work areas, and proper care of equipment
n

A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!
n
n
Previous experience working in a commercial or large-scale kitchen environment.
n
Familiarity with food safety standards, audits, or HACCP-based systems.
n
Experience working within a healthcare, aged care, or community services setting.
n
Basic computer skills relevant to kitchen or food service operations
n
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
n
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
n
Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work
