We are looking for a proactive and passionate Safety Advisor to join our Defence business. Based in Canberra, you will partner closely with operational leaders across Defence sites in NSW and the ACT, driving a strong safety culture and providing expert guidance on health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

The Role
n
As a Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting best practice safety outcomes and supporting our operational teams to maintain safe, compliant and high-performing workplaces.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Providing expert WHS, environmental and food safety advice to operational teams
n
Conducting risk assessments and developing safe work procedures
n
Leading incident investigations and supporting effective corrective actions
n
Supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
n
Conducting site audits,



inspections and compliance reviews
n
Ensuring compliance with legislative, client and company requirements
n
Coaching and influencing leaders to strengthen safety capability
n
Driving continuous improvement initiatives across safety performance
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for a safety professional who enjoys building robust stakeholder relationships and influencing positive safety outcomes.
n
You'll bring:
n
n
Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain a Defence Security Clearance
n
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety as a minimum (Diploma or Degree highly regarded)
n
Experience in a Health, Safety, Setting or related role
n
Strong incident investigation and risk management capability
n
ICAM investigation training and root cause analysis experience (desirable)
n
Current unrestricted driver's licence
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
Experience working in site-based or operational environments (highly regarded)
n
Food safety experience or qualifications (desirable)
n
