Operations Coordinator | Electrical, Data & Drafting n
GAP Industries is looking for an experienced Electrical Operations Coordinator with drafting experience to join our growing team.
n
This is a technical operations role combining project coordination, technician scheduling, job management and AutoCAD drafting across electrical and communications projects. Previous drafting experience is essential.
About the Role n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Coordinating daily electrical, data, maintenance and project operations
n
Scheduling electricians, technicians, subcontractors and equipment
n
Reviewing upcoming work and confirming labour, materials and site requirements
n
Creating, updating and managing jobs through Simpro
n
Monitoring job progress, deadlines, costs and outstanding documentation
n
Assisting with quotations, purchase orders, variations and project cost tracking
n
Liaising with clients, project managers, supervisors, technicians and suppliers
n
Preparing and updating electrical and communications drawings
n
Producing layouts, mark-ups, schematics and as-built drawings
n
Interpreting construction drawings, specifications and client requirements
n
Coordinating site access, inductions, permits and project documentation
n
Ensuring technicians submit accurate timesheets, job notes, photographs and service reports
n
Identifying and escalating operational risks, delays and resourcing concerns
n
Supporting job close-out and ensuring all required documentation is complete
n
Maintaining GAP Industries' safety, quality, presentation and customer-service standards
n
Supporting continuous improvement across operational systems and workflows
n
Drafting Responsibilities n




Previous drafting experience is essential. The successful applicant must be confident:
n

Using AutoCAD or similar drafting software
n
Preparing electrical, lighting, power, data and communications layouts
n
Updating drawings from site mark-ups and technician information
n
Preparing accurate as-built documentation
n
Reading and interpreting architectural, electrical and construction plans
n
Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and document control
n
Working with project managers and tradespeople to ensure drawings accurately reflect completed works
n
n
Experience with
Bluebeam, Revit, Microsoft Office and Simpro
will be highly regarded.

What We're Looking For n

Previous operations coordination experience within the electrical, communications or construction industry
n
Demonstrated technical drafting experience
n
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
n
Strong understanding of electrical and data operations
n
Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications
n
Strong scheduling, planning and organisational skills
n




Experience coordinating field technicians and competing priorities
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
Strong attention to detail and document-control skills
n
Ability to identify problems and follow them through to resolution
n
Confidence communicating with clients, supervisors, suppliers and tradespeople
n
Ability to work independently while supporting the wider operational team
n
Current Australian driver's licence
n
Reliable, skilled and solutions-focused approach
n

Experience preparing quotations and estimates

Commercial electrical project experience
n
Data and communications experience
n
Revit or Bluebeam experience

Project coordination or contract administration experience
