Description: n
The Swimming Development Coach is responsible for developing the swimmers' capability beyond basic aquatic skills, with a focus on improving swimming efficiency, stroke technique, athletic development and competitive swimming skills.
n
Shifts for this role are generally scheduled from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, with additional coverage required for morning squad sessions and Learn to Swim lessons.
Key Responsibilities / Duties: n
n
Provide instruction and guidance to swimmers in various aspects of swimming, including technique, stroke development, breathing, and race strategies.
n
Develop and implement practice plans that are tailored to the specific needs and abilities of the squad, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and race preparation.
n
Observe and evaluate swimmers' performance, providing constructive feedback, and demonstrating proper techniques.
n
Encourage and motivate students to achieve their personal best.
n
Ensure the pool area and equipment are well-maintained and meet safety standards.
n
Keep accurate records of students' attendance, progress, and achievements.
n

Skills and Experiences: To be considered for this role, you should have: n
n
Swimming Australia Development Coach or equivalent certification (required) coupled with experience working as a development coach in a similar role.
n
Swimming Australia Advanced Coach certificate (highly regarded).
n
Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
n
An ability to work autonomously, with demonstrated initiative and motivation to prioritise tasks effectively.
