A large Melbourne organisation is looking for a hands-on Oracle PL/SQL developer to take on a complex, business-critical application estate on a 12-month contract.
It's a genuine legacy environment with years of change layered on top of each other, across a mix of vendor products and in-house builds.
You'd be the person who learns it properly, keeps it running, and untangles it as you go.
The person who currently holds it together is moving onto a major program, so they need someone who can take it off him and stand on their own reasonably quickly.
This is hands-on development.
No architecture, no team leadership, you'll be in the code every day, solving hard problems with minimal supervision.
What you'll be doing Design, develop, test and maintain Oracle and PL/SQL solutions across a complex, high-availability portfolio Root cause analysis and defect resolution on difficult application and database issues Produce technical documentation - solution designs, deployment guides, operational support docs Work through a structured SDLC with design governance, code review and change management Support workplace stability, deployments and vendor release activity What you'll bring Deep, current Oracle PL/SQL development packages, procedures, schema design SQL performance analysis and tuning Experience inside a large,
