SEO salary plus 12% super Permanent full time On the job skill and leadership development Flexible working arrangements available - balance life and work Access to health and wellbeing initiatives and learning and development opportunities Discounted gym memberships Generous personal and carers leave About the role: The role is responsible for leading the planning, review, improvement and delivery of services across early years, maternal and child health, ageing well, youth, health and wellbeing, disability inclusion, social planning, as well as oversight of Council's RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) and internal grants processes to ensure they remain responsive, sustainable, evidence-informed and aligned with Council's strategic priorities.
The position drives innovative and effective approaches to service delivery, community capacity building and partnership development, fostering collaboration across government, service providers and the community to improve outcomes for residents.
The role also leads strategic responses to emerging community needs, legislative and policy reform, demographic change and evolving community expectations, ensuring Council's services and investment continue to deliver value and positive community impact.
What you will bring to the role: Relevant tertiary qualification in human services, social sciences, public health, community planning or a related discipline, together with significant leadership experience in community-focused service delivery.
Demonstrated senior leadership experience across community services portfolios, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver strategic, customer-focused community outcomes.




Strong understanding of the legislative, regulatory, policy and funding environments relevant to local government and community services, including the application of Child Safe Standards and sound governance principles.
Proven experience in strategic planning, policy development, service design, and continuous improvement, with the ability to identify community needs and implement effective, evidence-based solutions.
Extensive experience building and maintaining productive partnerships with government agencies, community organisations, service providers and other stakeholders to achieve collaborative outcomes.
Strong financial, project and resource management skills, including budget management, service planning, risk management, and the effective allocation of resources to achieve organisational objectives.
Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to prepare and present high-quality reports, briefings and recommendations to senior leaders, elected representatives and external stakeholders.
