Position: Bricklayer Position Type: Full Time Salary: $80,000 - $82,000 p/a plus Super Employer Name: PUNJAB CONSTRUCTION (WA) PTY LTD - t/a PUNJAB CONSTRUCTION A.B.N. ************** Job Location: PERTH, WA **** Advertising Period: 28 days - 18 Sep ******* Oct **** Summary Our client Punjab Construction (WA) Pty Ltd, trading as Punjab Construction, is seeking to add an experienced Bricklayer to its construction team in Piara Waters, Western Australia.
Working across residential and construction projects throughout the Perth metropolitan area, the successful applicant will contribute to quality brickwork, structural construction and repair activities while maintaining accurate workmanship, site safety and reliable project delivery.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Study building plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and bricklaying requirements.
• Lay bricks, blocks and other masonry materials accurately in mortar.
• Spread and apply mortar to form solid and consistent masonry joints.
• Check vertical and horizontal alignment throughout construction using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Cut and shape bricks and blocks to suit corners and irregular spaces.
• Construct walls, partitions, arches and other brick or block structures.
• Repair and maintain existing brickwork, blockwork and associated masonry structures.
• Prepare foundations and surfaces before commencing brick and block laying activities.
• Install damp-resistant materials where required to protect foundations and masonry structures.
• Remove excess mortar and finish joints to achieve neat, consistent workmanship.
• Erect and dismantle restricted-height scaffolding where required for bricklaying activities.
• Measure and calculate material quantities required for assigned construction projects.
• Follow construction drawings, project specifications and site instructions throughout each job.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
• Comply with workplace health, safety and construction site requirements at all times.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • AQF Certificate III in Bricklaying, or an equivalent recognised qualification relevant to professional bricklaying work.
• Minimum 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience working as a Bricklayer or closely comparable masonry tradesperson.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret building plans, specifications, measurements and construction requirements accurately.
• Practical experience laying bricks and blocks, applying mortar and maintaining correct horizontal and vertical alignment.
• Competence using bricklaying hand tools, cutting equipment, measuring devices and other relevant construction equipment.
• Ability to complete brickwork repairs, structural masonry work and detailed finishing to an appropriate trade standard.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety obligations within residential and general construction environments.
• Ability to work reliably within a construction team while completing assigned work to project timelines and specifications.
