Surgeons holding Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and/or Specialist Registration with AHPRA are encouraged to apply.
The Opportunity The successful General Surgeon will join an established specialist team providing comprehensive surgical services across the Tamworth region.
The role offers the opportunity to: Provide high-quality specialist General Surgery services across inpatient and outpatient settings Participate in a broad range of elective and emergency surgical presentations Work collaboratively with experienced specialists, medical officers and multidisciplinary teams Contribute to clinical leadership, quality improvement and service development Support the education and supervision of junior medical staff and trainees Participate in teaching and mentoring of medical students and surgical trainees Develop your clinical interests within a supportive regional specialist environment About Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital Tamworth Hospital services a catchment population of approximately 205,000 people and is one of the largest and most advanced rural referral hospitals in Australia.
Following a $220 million acute services redevelopment completed in **** , the hospital provides up-to-date facilities, expanded clinical services and a strong focus on innovation,

Teaching Professional Development Tamworth Hospital has a strong academic and teaching focus and is affiliated with the University of Newcastle Bachelor of Medicine program and the Joint Medical Program with the University of New England .

About You To be considered for this position, you will hold: FRACS or equivalent specialist surgical qualifications Specialist Registration with AHPRA , or eligibility for specialist registration Appropriate experience in General Surgery Strong clinical and communication skills A commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team An interest in teaching, supervision and professional development International Medical Specialists (SIMGs)
with suitable qualifications and eligibility for the relevant Australian specialist pathway are also encouraged to enquire.
