About the Company Our client is a large-scale manufacturer operating multiple sites across Australia and New Zealand, producing packaging products for major national and international beverage and consumer brands.
The Perth site is a single-line, 24/7 operation established in the ****s, with a sustained equipment replacement and upgrade program over the past decade keeping the plant continually modernised.
The Opportunity This is a rare chance to take full ownership of the engineering and maintenance function at a stable, well-run manufacturing site, with scope to shape both team performance and a significant capital investment program.
You'll lead a highly experienced group and be central to how the site's next phase of investment is delivered.
The Role You will lead the day-to-day engineering, maintenance and reliability performance of the plant, with a focus on mean time between failures, mean time to repair and overall uptime.
You'll manage an annual maintenance budget of approximately $2M, identify improvement opportunities, prepare capital forecasts and deliver approved CapEx projects with support from head-office engineering resources.
You'll lead project delivery across equipment upgrades, installations, commissioning and ramp-up, coordinating external OEMs and contractors,

and will play a key role in a large capital program over the next two years - including a warehouse extension and multiple machine upgrades.
You'll also respond to significant breakdowns, provide out-of-hours support where required, and own site-level safety compliance.
About You You bring a proven high-speed manufacturing background combined with robust people leadership, maintenance/reliability expertise, and hands-on project delivery experience.
Food and beverage manufacturing backgrounds are highly relevant, as are other high-speed or capital-intensive manufacturing environments - a mechanical bias is preferred, though electrical or trade-based candidates with the right leadership skill set are also encouraged to apply.
You'll need to be practical and credible with an experienced trade team, comfortable managing maintenance and CapEx budgets, and confident leading through people issues in a 24/7 operating environment.
Strong record-keeping and reporting discipline is essential.
