Learning Area Leader - Mathematics This is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established Mathematics team and play a key role in shaping teaching practice, curriculum innovation and student achievement across the College.
About the Role The Learning Area Leader - Mathematics is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team committed to excellence in teaching and learning.
The role provides strategic leadership of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment within the Mathematics Learning Area and works collaboratively with the Professional Learning Committe to improve student learning outcomes and engagement.

Key responsibilities include:



Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of the Mathematics curriculum across Years 7-12 Building a positive, collaborative and high-performing Mathematics team Supporting teachers through coaching, mentoring and professional feedback Promoting contemporary, evidence-informed teaching and assessment practices Monitoring and analysing student achievement data to inform improvement strategies Ensuring curriculum programs align with Victorian Curriculum and VCAA requirements Supporting the implementation of College learning and teaching priorities Contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives and strategic priorities Working collaboratively with Heads of Learning and College leaders to support student success Upholding child safety obligations and modelling professionalism, integrity and accountability The role requires a highly effective classroom practitioner with strong leadership capability, a commitment to professional growth and a passion for improving outcomes for all learners.
About You Applicants will demonstrate: A solid commitment to Catholic education and the mission and ethos of John Paul College Proven success as an outstanding classroom teacher of Mathematics Demonstrated leadership experience or the capacity to lead and develop others A deep understanding of curriculum,
