We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our Medicine Department as a Medicine Coordinator .
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the organisational and administrative side of veterinary medicine, while remaining connected to clinical care.
The Medicine Coordinator is responsible for the smooth day-to-day coordination of Medicine cases , including patient admissions, referral bookings, billing, and nursing workflow.
Working closely with Specialists, Hospital Vets, nurses, Anaesthesia and Client Services, you will help ensure efficiency and high-quality care.
About the Role Coordinate the schedule, triage referrals, create bookings and manage case requirements Manage patient admissions and discharges Work with Hospital Vets and nursing staff to delegate, prioritise and complete tasks efficiently , whilst adapting to unexpected changes in workflow Ensure accurate billing prior to discharge Maintain accurate patient records Strong focus on client and referring vet communication Identify opportunities to improve workflows and processes Nursing Support While the primary focus is Medicine coordination and nursing supervision , you will also provide hands-on nursing support when required, including:
Patient monitoring and routine nursing care Medication preparation and administration Patient handling and assisting with procedures Supporting other nurses and providing nursing guidance and training About You Certificate IV or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and current VPBWA registration Experience in Medicine, high-dependency care or veterinary hospital coordination Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence with billing and clinical documentation Strong communication and teamwork skills The ability to prioritise competing tasks and keep cases progressing , while adapting to changing patient needs Why You'll Love the Role Work in a referral hospital environment that truly values its nurses Work alongside experienced Medicine Specialists and Hospital Vets Combine clinical nursing, coordination and administration Work with advanced endoscopy equipment, including a full range of Olympus rigid and flexible scopes Gain exposure to interventional endoscopic procedures using a Diode Laser Work in a modern, purpose-built referral facility Be part of a team-oriented team that values initiative, teamwork and professional growth How to Apply Interested in joining our Medicine team?
