What You'll Learn n
Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll develop practical skills across a wide range of sports turf operations, including:
n

Preparing and applying chemicals for pest, weed and disease control, including protected transportation and storage.
n




Installing and maintaining drainage and pressurised irrigation systems.
n
Operating and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment.
n
Improving soil health and plant nutrition to support healthy turf growth.
n
Identifying and controlling weeds, pests, diseases and plant disorders.
n
Renovating and constructing sports turf facilities.
n
Following industry best‐practice safety procedures and equipment operation standards.
n
About You n
Previous experience in sports turf management is not required. What matters most is that you're a reliable, hard‐working individual who is motivated to learn, willing to take direction and eager to develop new skills. Your positive attitude and strong work ethic will set you up for success.
n
You are mature, professional and comfortable interacting with people from all walks of life.
n
You already have, or are willing to obtain, a
White Card
and
Working with Children Check
. A current driver's licence is also preferred.
n
You must be an
Australian citizen
to satisfy government requirements relating to the schooling component of the apprenticeship.
