n
About the Role
n
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the engineering, planning, commercial and operational delivery of defined work packages from preconstruction through construction, commissioning and closeout.
n
The role will be predominantly site-based across projects in Southeast Queensland, working closely with Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen and construction crews while maintaining regular engagement with clients, designers, subcontractors and suppliers.
n
Your responsibilities will include:

Developing construction methodologies, staging plans, short-term programs and look-aheads, and identifying constraints before they impact delivery.
n
Providing technical guidance to site teams and resolving design, constructability and site issues.
n
Managing RFIs, design changes, technical queries and interfaces with clients, designers and other stakeholders.
n
Monitoring project costs, productivity and progress, including forecasting, cost-to-complete and financial reporting to the Project Manager.
n
Identifying, preparing and managing variations, scope changes and other contractual entitlements.
n
Managing procurement, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve project cost, quality, safety and programme requirements.
n
Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontract resources to meet project delivery targets.
n
Managing project quality requirements including ITPs, inspections, testing, hold points, NCRs and handover documentation.
n
Supporting the development and implementation of Project Management Plans, SWMS, environmental controls and project-specific procedures.
n
Ensuring compliance with Oakridge Services' safety, environmental and quality systems and ISO *****, ISO ***** and ISO **** requirements.
n
Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
n
Mentoring Site Engineers and supporting the development of project delivery capability across the business.
n
Proactively identifying project risks, opportunities and improvements and working with the Project Manager to implement appropriate actions.
n
About You
n
We are looking for a practical, commercially aware engineer with strong civil construction and utilities experience who is comfortable working predominantly in a site environment and close to the construction teams delivering the work.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification, supported by relevant civil construction experience.
n
5+ years' experiencein project engineering, preferably within civil utilities or infrastructure construction.
n
Experience delivering water, wastewater, pipelines, drainage or associated civil infrastructure projects.
n
Strong understanding of construction methodology, temporary works, sequencing, planning and site delivery.
n
Demonstrated ability to manage project costs, forecasting, procurement and subcontractor performance.
n
Experience with variations, RFIs, scope changes and construction contract administration.
n
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and field crews.
n
Sound commercial judgement and the ability to identify issues early and develop practical solutions.
n
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work fronts.
n
A genuine commitment to safety, quality and environmental performance.
n
A hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside site teams to support successful project delivery.
n
The ambition and capability to progress into a Project Management role as Oakridge Services continues to grow.
n
Experience working on brownfield utilities, live services, pipeline construction, water or wastewater infrastructure will be highly regarded.
n
