About the role
n
Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking an Acting Clinical Nurse to work within our inpatient Oncology team. This position will be employed on a maximum term 12 month contract, 32 hours per week. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.

Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in **** and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.

Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation
and

What you'll be doing
n
Whilst maintaining the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
n
n
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and the continuum of care
n
Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
n
Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
n
n
About you
n
To be considered for this position, you must have:
n
n
Minimum of 4+ years post graduate experience in oncology or haematology
n
Leadership and team leader experience
n
Post graduate Diploma or higher (desirable)
n
Demonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy administration and central venous line management.
n
Experience with nursing palliative patients and those undergoing Radiation Therapy treatments is essential.
n
Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
n
Comprehensive assessment skills
n
Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate management and workloads
n
Strong knowledge of continuous improvement process, coupled with the proven ability to initiate, coordinate and evaluate quality improvement measures
n
